Dried foods are foods that have been completely destroyed by dry heating. Food drying is a process of food preservation where food is dried without moisture. Dried foods will not spoil as long as they are kept in tight glass containers. Dried foods are made in a variety of ways depending on their use. Glass jars and stainless steel jars are the two most common types used for dried food. A Glass jar can retain its shape after it is placed in a heat lamp for about six hours. This is because it contains no liquid so it retains its shape even after being exposed to heat. Stainless steel jars can undergo the full process of dehydration, from beginning to end, at a temperature of about sixty degrees Fahrenheit. Glass jars may not include a saucer to help contain or maintain the heat. These types of jars or containers may not include lids, but they are preferred by some people for this reason.

Dried fish is one of the most common types of dried foods soft dried mango. Its texture and flavour are similar to smoked fish and people who do not like fish prefer to use dried fruit. Dried fruit is often used in smoothies, ice creams, cookies, candies, puddings, cakes, deserts and other desserts. Pack foods are great for those on a budget or simply want to be thrifty. These are great for those who do not have a great deal of time to make homemade dried foods or who do not have time to buy pre-packaged varieties. Pack foods can be used for a wide range of foods such as meat, vegetables, fruits, cheeses, soups, stews, beans, potatoes and more.

Pack food in small Ziploc bags and add them to your freezer. Once you have used up the entire bag you can put the food back into the freezer until you need it again. To maximize the shelf life of your dried foods you should store them in a cool and dry place. Never leave dried foods in your freezer uncovered as they will lose moisture content very quickly. Store them in their original packaging if you want to be able to use them at a later date.
