Glass jars may not include a saucer to help contain or maintain the heat. These types of jars or containers may not include lids, but they are preferred by some people for this reason.

Pack food in small Ziploc bags and add them to your freezer. Once you have used up the entire bag you can put the food back into the freezer until you need it again. To maximize the shelf life of your dried foods you should store them in a cool and dry place. Never leave dried foods in your freezer uncovered as they will lose moisture content very quickly. Store them in their original packaging if you want to be able to use them at a later date.
